John Wayne is dead.

In the early days of Hollywood, the silver screen flickered with tales of Cowboys and Indians—stories that dehumanized Indigenous peoples and ingrained harmful stereotypes and mistruths into the fabric of mainstream culture.

Hollywood was built telling the stories of dead Indians, pumping savage tropes and baseless stereotypes.

These narratives not only misrepresented our communities but also shaped a legacy of misunderstanding and racism toward Indigenous peoples that has persisted for generations.

Well.

John Wayne is dead.

And we’ve flipped the script.

Indian & Cowboy Creative Media Inc. is an award-winning, innovative, and forward-looking Indigenous media company that creates, produces, and publishes Indigenous stories for worldwide audiences across multiple platforms.

Who we are, where we’ve been, where we’re going.

  • Indian & Cowboy launched in 2014 as a grassroots, member-supported Indigenous podcast platform dedicated to empowering creators and communities. We dreamed big, envisioning a space for Indigenous podcasts, writing, video, food, music, and culture. But scaling the project proved challenging, and the momentum we built came to a halt during the pandemic.

We took some time and space away from producing to identify where our place was in the Indigenous content, publishing, and production space.

    And now, we’re back.

  • With a renewed focus and bold new projects, Indian & Cowboy Creative Media Inc. is back to finish what we started. We’re creating and sharing Indigenous stories that are nuanced, complex, and unapologetically rooted in Indigenous truths. Our mission remains the same: to share Indigenous stories with worldwide audiences.

  • Indian & Cowboy Creative Media Inc. develops, creates, and publishes Indigenous stories for worldwide audiences.

We are currently in development with industry partners, broadcasters, and Indigenous producers worldwide.

    Scripted. Unscripted. Podcasts. Feature films.

    Indigenous stories, everywhere.
